WebJul 13, 2004 · The truck starts great and then idles pretty good but I think the bad gas prevents it form idling better. Then when I shift it from park the truck dies. WebJul 16, 2018 · It starts and idles fine but whenever I put it into drive,1, or 2 it stalls out. I tried revving it up and shifted with one foot on the brake and it lurched and stalled. Starts fine, runs normal in park or neutral and reverse. I have limited space to reverse but it seems to work and the rpm's don't fall off when it's in reverse like they do

WebDec 29, 2010 · I have a 99 f350 when i put the truck in drive or reverse the truck dies..or very close to killing the engine unless the rpm is up but if i put truck in gear and keep my foot on the break the engine will just labor and the rpm will drop until the engine stalls.. when i get the truck moving it drives fine and no issues with the trans at all

WebMar 3, 2013 · I have noticed a new pattern with the truck, when I charge the batteries the truck starts and runs fine shifting into gears with no problem. It is only after 15-20 times shifting from park to drive or park to reverse that the stalling starts again. I had the batteries checked again and had the alternator checked and both tested good.

Web94 Ford Taures dies in reverse How is the car when put in drive? Does it almost stall or does it run fine? Almost sounds like a transmission problem. Reverse and drive put the same exact load on the engine when sitting still, so it seems unlikely it could be anything but a transmission problem.

WebAug 29, 2009 · To test for a vacuum leak, remove the air cleaner and cup your hands over the carb slowing increasing how much you choke off the air supply. If the idle increases it usually indicates a leak. Spraying a little water around the throttle shafts, base gasket, intake gasket can help isolate the leak. Test the fuel pressure with a gauge.

WebApr 3, 2013 · If it all works except the car dies when you put it in gear, I would think the idle is to low and when you put it in gear its drop the idle more and stalls out the car. Also vacuum leaks or miss routed vacuum lines would show these symptoms. Or maybe a combination of idle and to retarded timing..
